The setup was designed to test adaptability

The BRZ wasn't set up to produce the fastest possible lap. In this trim, it was about 2.5 seconds off its DATL Time Trial pace.

For this contest, the setup was about adaptability:

  1. Understeer early
  2. Grip in the middle
  3. Greasy late

With the new alignment, you could not overpower this setup. It demanded weight over the nose, and power at the exit with high minimum speeds would just scrub the tires into understeer.

Adam Poland won by combining speed with consistency across the full ten-lap run. His lap times varied by just 0.66 seconds, giving him the strongest overall performance in the field and a 0.265-second margin over second place.

How to read the results

Ten-lap average determines the official finishing order. Fastest lap is each driver's quickest completed lap. Optimal lap combines their fastest sector times into a theoretical best. Consistency measures the spread between their fastest and slowest counted laps; a smaller spread indicates greater repeatability. T indicates a tie.

Measured against Adam Poland’s winning 1:25.835 average, the first seven drivers were separated by just 0.535 seconds. The first thirteen were covered by 2.125 seconds, with only 2 of 15 finishing more than three seconds from the winning time.

Consistency revealed a different side of the field. 6 drivers ranked higher for repeatability than they did in the final standings. Ryan Harness finished twelfth overall but ranked third in consistency, with only 0.56 seconds separating his fastest and slowest laps.
